Congregational Meeting (Dec 18) Scheduled and
Update on Budget Forum (Dec 4)

The Board of Directors will be scheduling a Congregational Meeting at 1:30PM on Dec 18, conducted virtually via ZOOM.

The Budget Forum was held on December 4 and was an opportunity for the Board to present the candidate nominated for Board Service, as well as to present the 2023 Budget, and for folks to ask questions.

At the meeting on December 18, the Budget will be voted on by Church Members. Members will also be voting on one Church Board Opening. The Board term of Genevieve Walker and Leigh Anne Arnold will expire at the end of this year. Leigh Anne has opted not to run, and per the Bylaw passed last year, the Board has opted to reduce the Board size from 6 to 5 members (one of them being the Pastor). Geneveve has indicated her desire to serve another term, and has completed her application for reelection.

Members and friends are welcome to attend, however, only Church Members present via ZOOM at the Congregational Meeting will be called upon to vote. If you are unsure of your member status, please contact Rev. Emma.

Fear can be such a factor in our lives,
especially when things change or new things happen.
This Advent season you are invited to explore how some of the significant folks in the story
faced the changes that lay before them.

We heard what the prophets say: HOPE.
We heard what Mary says: PEACE.
This week…
Fear Not: LOVE
(Or… “What Does Joseph Say?”)

Sometimes Church looks like this (updated 11/13)

MCC NoVA 2023 Stewardship Campaign
MCC of Northern Virginia began its Pledge Campaign Sunday, October 16.

In order to maintain the facility and meet the financial obligations of your church as they currently stand, MCC NoVA needs
just under $100,000 for 2023.

As of November 13 MCC NoVA has received 18 Pledges representing about 62% of the budget goal needed to cover facility expenses and financial obligations for 2023.

We are over 1/2 way there!

If you donate to MCC, but have never considered a Pledge before, please prayerfully consider making one now.
Your participation in this process is essential and will enable your Church to prepare the budget for next year
and plan accordingly for 2023.

No Pledge is small! Every Pledge counts!
And every Pledge is a Rainbow! A sign of Hope and Promise!

MCC NoVA’s Mission is to continue outreach and ministry to marginalized communities,
to be a church for all people, and an LGBTIQQA+ Spiritual and Community Center in the Heart of Fairfax City.

You are asked to prayerfully consider making a Pledge toward your Church’s mission for 2023.

You don’t need to be a member to pledge!

And your Pledge is just that:
a hopeful estimate of what you believe
you may be able to contribute next year.
It’s a forecast, and like any forecast,
you can change it at any point
based on time and circumstance.

Your participation in this process is essential
and will enable your Church to plan accordingly
in preparing a budget for next year.

This Church is YOUR church!

2023 Pledge Form

You may print out the form, and mail it in, or send it in an e/mail.

If you believe in the existence of affirming churches and denominations, and that they serve as an essential counterpoint
to less affirming voices, then supporting their existence is necessary for their future.
