A Different Kind of Table Ministry

We often see the man preaching and speaking and marching with thousands. Before such events, he would often go to where the youth were, pool halls, and start up a game of 8 ball, talking as he called the pockets.

”We are in the midst of a great movement… and we want and solicit the pull of everybody in this community. We have had our demonstrations and marches making it very clear that we will no longer accept segregation and discrimination. Now we come to you… and we want you to talk with your friends.. We don’t need our guns… all we need is the power of our souls and our commitment.”

~ From Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King
speaking in a pool hall in Albany, 1962.

We are grateful for your continued generosity as we move forward into a future with deep needs and boundless possibilities for our community!
Blessings and Thank You!

Star Words: A Spiritual Practice
What Star Are You Following?
Join us Sunday and receive a gift
~ a word to reflect on for the coming year! *

Spiritual practices encourage us to do something
– to do something and to think about what we are doing.
They encourage us to seek the profound in the ordinary.

The action may be something small, or common, but we are also encouraged, at the same time to think, and to and make a connection with something much larger. This Star Word practice is to encourage you to seek and find direction, to take more notice of the moments around you and the lessons that they have to teach you! Be a Magi with your gifts and your star. And see where they take you!

*A Star Word may be available virtually. Send an email to Rev. Emma
with “Star Word 2026” in the subject line and make a request!
