Special/Holiday Services ...
Our worship services reflect the variety of our backgrounds, drawing upon the church calendars, music and sacramental life of Protestant and Roman Catholic traditions, as well as some other spiritual traditions. MCC NOVA worship services generally reflect and follow the seasons of the Church Year: Advent, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's, Epiphany, Ash Wednesday, Lent, Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter, Pentecost. We usually follow the Revised Common Lectionary for our textual lessons each week.
We also observe other special occasions from year to year, such as World AIDS Day, Kwanzaa, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, GLBT Pride, World Day of Prayer for Healing Homophobia, Earth Day, World Communion Sunday, etc. We also have a Spiritual Retreat each year, which includes several opportunities for creative worship.
